 Basil Chicken on Rice

Basil is a herb from the tropic. It has a strong distinct flavour which make it one of the favorite herb of the Orient.

Cooking instruction

Basil can be found in your neighbor oriental food store. It either comes in fresh or dried. Fresh basil has the strongest flavour. If fresh is not available, dried one also can be used Soak in water for 1/2 hour before use.

Amount of chili should vary from person to person. The brave ones may take 3-4 chili. For normal, use only 1-2.

For 1 Servings
Ingredients
1 cup steamed Jasmine or long grain rice.
1/4 cup chicken strips
1 cup basil leaves
1 table spoon chopped garlic
2 table spoons soy sauce
1 table spoon cooking oil
1 tea spoon chopped chili

Cooking with frying pan

 
Heat cooking oil under medium heat. When oil is medium hot, add in chopped garlic and stir fry till garlic is slightly brown. Lower heat to low, add in chicken and chili as preferred. Stir fry quickly till chicken is cooked.

 
Add in rice to frying pan and mix all ingredients, add soy sauce while mixing. Stir fry till rice is warm and well mixed with all ingredients.

 
Put in basil leaves to frying and stir fry quickly. Off heat and transfer rice and ingredient to plate. Decorate with some cucumber (optional). Serve while hot.
