Nasi
Goreng

Nasi means "Rice" and Goreng means
"Fried", so Nasi Goreng simply means "Fried Rice".
Nasi Goreng is a common rice dish from Indonesia, Malaysia and
Singapore. Note that different area may prepare Nasi Goreng differently,
varying in sauce and ingredients. One thing remain the same .
. . Rice.
Cooking instruction
Nasi Goreng is similar to fried rice. It will be easier to
cook with cold steamed rice. Normal long grain is most commonly
used. Old crop Jasmine rice is also acceptable. |

Ingredients

Steamed long grain rice, left overnight in refrigerator. |
|
2-3 pieces |
Chicken wings or drum sticks |

medium shrimps |

large egg |

cooking oil |

1/2 cup |
chopped spring onion |

4 table spoons |
chopped parsley |
|
1 table spoon |
chopped garlic |

2 table spoon |
soysauce |

chilli, cut to strips |

Cooking with sauce pan

Wet non-stick sauce pan with cooking oil or olive oil and heat
under medium fire. Beat egg and spread thinly on pan. Fry egg
both side. Leave fried egg aside till cold. Cut fried egg to
long strips, each about 1/4 inches in width. |

Pour the rest of cooking oil or olive oil to sauce pan, heat
under medium fire. Fry chicken wing and drumstick till cooked.
Leave cooked chicken aside. |

Drain oil from sauce pan, leaving only 2-3 table spoons oil and
heat under low fire. Add in chopped spring onion, chopped garlic
and chopped parsley, stir fry shortly till light brown. Increase
heat to medium, add in shrimp and stir fry till cooked, then
pour rice into sauce pan. |

Reduce heat to low and quickly mix all ingredients. Add in soysauce
and egg strips. Mix quickly. |

Top up with few strips of chilli. Serve warm on plate. |
