Plain Rice NShima

General

NShima is usually made from corn flour. I found that rice also can be a very good nshima with its distinct texture and flavour.

Cooking instruction

Cooking rice nshima is a little easier than corn nshima, not as much stirring. Using broken short grain rice as nshima is sticky and soft. If you use broken long grain rice, nshima will be loose and firm.

Rice nshima can be cooked in rice cooker or sauce pan. For rice cooker, just pour water and rice in pot, on power and cooker will turn off automatically when rice is cooked. Leave rice in closed cooker for 10-15 minutes before serving.

For 4 Servings
Ingredients
1 cup broken short grain rice
2-3 cups fresh water, use more water for softer rice texture
