NShima is usually made from corn flour. I
found that rice also can be a very good nshima with its distinct
texture and flavour.
Cooking instruction
Cooking rice nshima is a little easier than corn nshima, not
as much stirring. Using broken short grain rice as nshima is
sticky and soft. If you use broken long grain rice, nshima will
be loose and firm.
Rice nshima can be cooked in rice cooker or sauce pan. For
rice cooker, just pour water and rice in pot, on power and cooker
will turn off automatically when rice is cooked. Leave rice in
closed cooker for 10-15 minutes before serving. |
