Easy Cooking Chicken Rice

Hainanise Chicken rice sound very troublesome to prepare. Actually it is very simple. Just follow this simple method.

Chicken rice cames from Hainan, a large island in south China. The art of chicken rice cooking follow the overseas Chinese to Singapore, of which I feel that she now serves the best chicken rice in the world.

Cooking instruction

Cooking with electric rice cooker is the simplest way. Simply mix all ingredients in cooker and on power. Cooker will turn off automatically. Let it set for another 15 minutes in covered cooker. Serve while hot.

Here I will show the way to cook with sauce pan. It is little more difficult, but not too difficult.

For 4 Servings
Ingredients
2 cups long grain rice or old crop jasmine rice.
3-4 cups fresh water
1/2 cup sliced chicken
4 table spoons soy sauce
1 table spoon chopped garlic

Cooking with frying pan

 

Mix all ingredients in a deep sauce pan. Pour in water, use 4 cups of water for long grain rice and 3 cups for jasmine rice, close cover and heat under medium fire till boil,

When water is boiling, lower heat, open cover and stir slowly to prevent burn.

 
Continue stirring while heating till water is all absorbed and rice is soft. Close cover, lower heat and cook for another 1-2 minutes under very low fire until rice is steaming again.

 

Off heat and let rice set in closed pan for another 10 minutes.

Serve while hot.
